Mo’Nique’s press tour regarding the downfall in his career following his blacklisting continues. The actress alleges that her fallout with Lee Daniels and Tyler Perry – as well as her exposure against Oprah Winfrey – has led to devastating career challenges and lost earnings.
Now, Mo’Nique asks Perry to right what she says is wrong. She wants Perry to apologize publicly for her alleged role in getting her blacklisted to help clear her name.
Mo’Nique issues with Tyler Perry
Mo’Nique’s issues with Perry began while promoting his Oscar-winning role in Precious. According to Mo’Nique, his contract only required promotion at the national level. However, the buzz started to generate criticism about his performance and the film began to circulate internationally.
In the middle of awards season, she says the film’s director Lee Daniels asked her to attend the Cannes Film Festival. Mo’Nique said no to the invitation. She alleges that Daniels, as well as Perry who helped market the film, were upset by her decision. As a result, she says she was characterized as difficult to work with.

As she began to speak out against inequalities in Hollywood, many of her colleagues have not publicly defended her, including Perry. She says she and Perry had private conversations in which he agreed with her position.
Mo’Nique also accuses Perry of privately offering him $ 500,000 to stop talking publicly about his problems with him. She says Perry lacks integrity not to publicly support her.

“Hats off to Will Smith for his apologies for what he did to the career / life of Janet Huberts (everyone’s Aunt Viv) when he was young,” Mo’Nique wrote in a recent Instagram post. “Maybe Tyler Perry, who privately admitted he was wrong, will do the same and be man enough to apologize in public as he promised.

Bossip reports the infamous private call between Perry and Mo’Nique, in which Perry can be heard saying, “I’m not a person who wants to hurt or upset anyone, especially you. It’s just heartbreaking, I never want you to think I’m trying to blackball.
Perry also claims that the film studio he works with, Lionsgate, insisted that he not talk about his feelings about Mo’Nique.
During the call, Perry also speaks with husband and Mo’Nique director Sidney Hicks and promises that after his film press tour he would publicly address his concerns for Mo’Nique.
Perry tells Hicks, “I’m going to let this calm down and when I get back on my press tour I know it’s going to happen, that’s where I’ll talk about it.” It’s too hot, it’s too hot. You all warmed it up.
Perry did not respond to Mo’Nique’s last message. She also says that she asks the same of Winfrey and Lionsgate as she does of Perry.
