A CEO and co-founder of a liquor company died while attempting a backflip on a balcony at Citi Field in Queens, New York, during a Dead & Company concert, falling 30 to 50 feet on concrete.
Ian Crystal, 46, allegedly attempted to backflip on the fifth floor of the baseball stadium during intermission during the show.
At approximately 9:05 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a 911 call. “Upon arrival, officers observed that EMS personnel were treating a 46-year-old man who suffered injuries consistent with a fall from a high position, ”NYPD spokeswoman Detective Sophia Mason said in a statement.
“He attempted a body flip, fell and landed on the balcony below,” police told the Daily New York News.
“We are aware of a tragic incident which unfortunately left one dead last night,” Harold Kaufman, spokesman for the New York Mets, who play in the stadium, told CNN. “Our most sincere and sincere condolences go out to those close to the participant.”
Mr. Crystal co-founded Evolution Spirits Inc during a brand development challenge and was known for his creativity.

“He was in good health. He was still working, ”added Juan Torres, 40. “I remember every morning when I walked in I saw him running.”
“Ian Cristal. Rooster. One of those who was always up for the next adventure or for a long conversation that could go in depth or go off the rails in the best way, ”his friend Neal Weinstein wrote on Facebook. “Left a long list of people you will miss. Glad to have known you, mate.
“So devastating. He was so filled with life and happiness. Ian will be truly missed by so many people, ”commented Eric Myers.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Mr. Crystal graduated from Emory University and the University of Maryland, but started building brands already in high school, when he won a publicity contest with the Florida Department of Citrus.
“The task was to create and make a promotional video to sell orange juice using a bespoke piece of music that told a positive and inspiring story about the juice. It started my career in beverage marketing and I’ve never looked back, ”Mr. Crystal wrote on his profile. He went on to manage brands such as ABSOLUT Vodka, Malibu Rum and Stoli Vodka, and collaborated with artists and designers such as Jay-Z, Swedish House Mafia, Ne Yo and Spike Lee, The daily mail reported.

After losing the equivalent of two floors, he was taken to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
“People are drunk, people are drunk,” security guard said The New York Post. A driver working near the stadium said he saw the man “tip over” before falling to the ground.
“He wasn’t reacting and he hit the ground head first. There was no way to survive, ”said the driver. “He was way too drunk. You could feel it.
“His brother came down and found out he had jumped,” Dan added. “His brother was with him. He was crying, ”added the driver to The post office.
