Montrezl Harrell reveals Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams’ reactions to joining Lakers

A few days ago, the Los Angeles Lakers shocked the NBA when they recruited great free agent Montrezl Harrell away from the Los Angeles Clippers.

Soon after, he spoke diplomatically about the reaction of his former Clippers team-mates Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams.

“Honestly, they understand the business,” Harrell said during his media availability. “I learned the trade from these guys, guys like Lou who were traded multiple times in a season. A guy like Pat who I played with for most of my career, who I ended up working with. They taught me it was a business. It doesn’t matter if you are not a top player in our league, we all know who these players are, everyone is replaceable.

When free agency officially began on Friday, it was widely believed that the Lakers needed to get younger and more athletic, as well as create better depth for their bench.

Harrell meets these needs. He is only 26 years old and he will bring exceptional speed and jumps to a Laker team who like to break fast and hit fast on offense.

His ability to string together garbage baskets will also help the team maintain or even extend runs when LeBron James is resting.

Meanwhile, the Clippers’ vaunted bench has been considerably weakened, and they have also lost the fiery fiery Harrell possesses in droves.
