Mookie Betts left the match Red Sox-Rangers after a left foot pain

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – Mookie Betts, the Red Sox's right-field player, has left the opening game of the Boston-Texas series because of a left-foot pain.

Betts appeared to be injured when he fell into a wall to try to score a hat-trick by Delino DeShields at the start of the second run on Tuesday night. While Betts finished that inning on the pitch, Gorkys Hernández took the lead in the third period.

It was expected that Betts had a night of rest, but last year, AL's most valuable player, wanted to play with right-hander Eduardo Rodríguez for his 19th victory.

After both teams scored four runs in the first set, Betts led the second with his 29th.
