SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Developers are working on a new project in northeastern Springfield.

The place is called Moon Town Crossing. The management of O & # 39; Reilly Hospitality is responsible for development. The project at I-44 and Glenstone already includes a Macadoodles and a Holiday Inn Express that will open soon.

Moon Town Crossing is a new barn style venue for weddings and other community events. They plan to organize yoga classes, movie nights and work with Macadoodles for events such as wine tastings. The site is handcrafted by the Amish with local materials. The name Moon Town Crossing comes from the north of Springfield history. More than a century ago, people jokingly said that there would be a city on the moon before the arrival of the railway in Springfield. A railway line was established north of Springfield, creating a separate town known as Springfield in the north, also called Moon Town. The people of Moon Town Crossing hope this new development will help give North Springfield a new impetus.

"I hope the north side will continue to grow and that we will continue to bring incredible things to Springfield, starting with Moon Town Crossing," said Cassidy Palmer, Moon Town Crossing Sales and Operations Manager. "I hope it will grow and become a whole other small area that Springfielders will appreciate."

They hope to have the full place in the next few months. The Holiday Inn Express accepts reservations for dates starting March 1st.
