The Jeep Wrangler and the Gladiator mount their mirrors on the doors. This becomes a problem when owners remove the doors, as the driver then loses important visibility to the outside, which also leads to the potential for reduced safety. Mopar solves the problem with its new door mirror kit, which the company says fits “quickly and easily.”
The mirror kit attaches to the hood end cap bolt and the top door hinge. A thumbwheel nut clamp is an attachment point to the door flange. The mounting brackets have a corrosion resistant undercoat and black powder coating. Homeowners can even mount a spotlight for additional lighting. The only tool needed to install everything is a T40 bit wrench, which is already included in the Wrangler and Gladiator tool kit.

Many aftermarket companies already offer mirrors for driving Jeeps with open doors, but Mopar touts their offering as being specifically designed to meet Original Equipment standards.
The Mopar Doors-off mirror kit retails for $ 295 in the US or CAN $ 398 in Canada. They are available for the current generation of Wrangler and Gladiator. The parts come with a two year / unlimited kilometer warranty.
While not yet available, spy photos also show Jeep developing half-doors for the Wrangler with a removable top. They are especially great for people living in warmer climates, as they primarily enjoy outdoor driving while having part of a door for a sense of security.
When it came time to design the new Bronco, the Ford team apparently looked at the Wrangler, saw this problem, and opted to mount the SUV’s mirrors on the A-pillar. The decision means that when the doors come off, the mirrors are still there.
