Last night, Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at Apple, hinted that the demand for the iPhone 11 was better than expected during the first 72 hours of pre-orders, especially in China. Other analysts corroborate Kuo's claims as we move closer to launching iPhone 11 on Friday.

Reuters detailed information cited by several analysts and retailers about supply chain controls and shipments, as they boast considerable improvements in demand for new iPhone over last year. JD.com, a Chinese e-commerce site, indicates that iPhone 11 pre-orders have increased 480% over the previous year.

In terms of colors, the retailer indicates that midnight green is the most popular color for the iPhone 11 Pro. For the iPhone 11, black and purple appear at the top of the charts in China. Meanwhile, sales of iPhone 11 on Alibaba's online trading platform, Tmall, would have risen by 335% over last year's iPhone XR.

In addition, analysts Instinet, a division of Nomura Bank, claim that the demand for iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro is "ahead of last year's launches." According to them, an increase in unit sales could offset a potential decrease in the average selling price:

"We are careful to extrapolate the data from the first weekend, even if it's fair to say that they're ahead of last year's launches," the authors said. Instinet analysts. "If the data on early shipping times were kept and converted to unit volumes, Apple might be able to offset the reduction in this year's average selling price."

Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives also told Reuters that the first supplier checks in Asia indicated that the demand for the iPhone 11 "looked good" up to now. However, Ives has not yet released detailed analysis of the demand for the iPhone 11.

Ming-Chi Kuo, a TF Securities analyst, yesterday increased his estimate of new iPhone deliveries in 2019 to 70-75 million units, compared to an earlier estimate of 65-70 million. Kuo said the availability of take-back programs and funding spurred upgrades this year. He also noted that the $ 699 price of the iPhone 11 makes it an ideal upgrade for iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 users.

The first pre-orders for the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 Pro are being shipped by customers. The devices will be officially available on September 20th.
