More and more sets of witnesses disappear from digital showcases

Valve recently withdrew the purchase option from the series developed by Telltale Borderlands Tales on Steam, and Good Old Games has announced that it will no longer sell any of the Telltale games as of May 27th. Nobody seems to know why.

Andreas_Pires, the user of Reddit, noticed for the first time Borderlands Tales had lost his option to buy on Steam just after midnight this morning. A few hours later, a Good Old Games (GOG) customer relations representative indicated on the digital market forums that all Telltale games would soon be leaving the store. "Unfortunately, we must inform you that, due to the closure of the company, all remaining titles of Telltale will be removed from our catalog on Monday, May 27 at 10:00 UTC," he writes.

Some of the other Telltale games that will soon be deleted from GOG include The wolf among us, Guardians of the Marvel galaxy, and Batman: The Telltale series. "We have received a notice of termination and withdrawal of the official title for all securities of Telltale, and we process it on time," said a spokesman for GOG. Kotaku in an email.

With the exception of Borderlands Tales, the rest of the games are still available on Steam, which did not immediately respond to a comment request. Borderlands Tales, in addition to being a great game, has also become relevant since Gearbox announced that Borderlands 3The story will resume where the events of this game have stopped.

"We are working to obtain Borderlands Tales back on the digital storefront as soon as possible, "a spokesperson for 2K Games, the publisher of Borderlands, Told Eurogamer earlier today. Borderlands Tales was developed and published by Telltale Games in 2014 under a 2K license. After layoffs of hundreds of employees without severance pay last fall and the subsequent closure of Telltale, it is unclear what will happen to the rest of its remaining sold games and whether their withdrawal from some stores is temporary or indefinite .

Kotaku interviewed five former employees of Telltale who wished to remain anonymous and had no idea why certain games, such as Borderlands Tales, are only now removed from the list, but their uncertain future has been recently demoralizing for some. A former developer of Telltale said, "Watching games that they have melted on and that have plunged their hearts into the sudden extinction of the universe is a real punch."
