Despite all the marketing behind the PlayStation 5’s launch, some parts of the internet consider it rather to be in vain as getting your hands on one from today without a pre-order is a pretty onerous task. While some outlets will have a limited number of consoles for sale, the next-gen system is effectively sold out everywhere. This shouldn’t last too long, however, as Sony’s Jim Ryan says the company is working hard to flood the market with more PS5 consoles before and after Christmas.
In a new interview with the BBC, the boss of PlayStation said, “We make more PS5s in this tough environment and then we made PS4s at this launch. If people can’t find one at launch, we are sorry and we apologize they can rest assured that we are working very hard to get important supplies to the market before and after christmas.
It is evident that the coronavirus pandemic has had a dramatic effect both on the rollout of the PS5 and on the disclosures and flows ahead of the launch. However, Jim Ryan says the company is still very happy with what it has handled. “It will be a bigger launch [than the PS4]. And I think given the circumstances that we find ourselves in, this is something we can be quietly proud of.
