More than 2,000 retained fetuses have been found at the home of a deceased physician in Indiana

Dr. Ulrich Klopfer died on September 3rd. The remains were found Thursday at his home in Will County, Illinois, about 45 km from Chicago, local media reports said.

A lawyer representing his family called the Will County Coroner's Office to inform him that the family had discovered what appeared to be leftover fetuses and to ask for help in eliminating them properly, he said. Will County Sheriff's Office in a statement.

When the detectives arrived at the address, they found the remains of fetuses preserved. The coroner's office took them away and the family cooperated fully in the investigation, the statement said.

There is no evidence that medical procedures were performed at the doctor's office, according to the statement.
