Morgan Wallen’s sister comes to the country music star’s defense days after the singer was caught using a racial slur.

In a seven-slide long Instagram post, Ashlyne Wallen said she believes the crop cancellation is “getting out of hand.”

His post comes shortly after video doorbell footage obtained by TMZ showed Wallen using the N word with friends after a night out last week. Wallen has since been ditched by his talent agency WME and his music has been removed from iHeartRadio.

“If you make a mistake or do something stupid, apologize, correct your mistake and learn from your personal growth,” she continued. “While our digital world connects use in a wonderful way, it also does the opposite. Although Wallen’s sister wrote that she thought his use of the N word was “unacceptable”, she also went on to say that she believed he had done it without hate or malicious intent, and that he should be a chance to earn forgiveness.

She made sure to add that some of the reviews her brother received were “positive and educational” while noting that the country star was making efforts to change. However, she disagrees with people who would use social media for negative purposes.

Wallen appears not to have shared any posts on social media since the scandal became public.

“I am embarrassed and sorry. I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back,” the 27-year-old singer told TMZ last week. “There is no excuse for using that type of language, ever. I sincerely apologize for using that word. I promise to do better.”

While some country music stars have publicly slammed Wallen, two industry insiders praised Wallen’s sister for her post.

“Little sister is beautiful,” commented recording artist Benny Burgess, who worked on a song with Wallen. “Send all the love to you.”
