The past week has been quite controversial for the UFC. In response to Conor McGregor's retirement, Khabib Nurmagomedov compared him to "a jealous woman" and said he would return to the UFC in a short time. Conor responded by flouting, directly insulting Khabib's wife and Muslim heritage, and doubling it. Things have gone so far that Dana White has said that the UFC would intervene. So, with record-breaking tensions and the UFC about to wage a full-blown cultural war, it now seems like it's the perfect time for the well-known diplomat, Colby Covington, to interfere in the conversation.
Speaking recently with Submission Radio, Covington dismissed the idea that after winning the welterweight title of Kamaru Usman, he would want to fight Nurmagomedov, to stick with Ali Abdelaziz, director of Usman and Khabib.
"Yeah, I mean, it's an easy fight," Covington said. "And he was already asking to fight the GSP between welterweight and light weight, and I can sneak between welterweight and light weight because I'm not a big welterweight. It will be more gratifying to crush two of Ali's biggest customers and let him cry, man. He is already emotional. You saw how moved he was during the last fight. So, taking two of his clients and meal tickets is going to be a nice feeling. "
Covington's beef with Abdelaziz sparked an altercation at a buffet in Las Vegas after UFC 235, when Abdelaziz and Usman clashed with Covington and the manager tried to switch to a professional fighter. Fortunately for Covington, Abelaziz was "slow as a turtle" and his "feline reflexes" allowed him to escape unscathed. But now, Covington is looking for revenge and thinks that being the guy who would ruin Khabib's perfect 27-0 record would be not only attractive but also easy.
"Oh man, it would be my easiest challenge," Covington said. "He is small and he does not even do what I do as well as I do. He can not fight as well as me, he has never faced a high-profile Division I All American player, a kid who has struggled all his life. This Sambo sh * t, this sh * t is weak, dude. If the fight was easy, she would call Sambo. But that's not it, it's called the fight.
If Covington manages to overtake Usman, it's not hard to imagine him fighting for Khabib. After all, Nurmagomedov has already shown that he could be nuts and Covington was currently living in Usman's head without paying rent, because of what he had said to the welterweight champion. It's pretty easy to imagine that the man who called all Brazilian fans of "filthy animals" would be able to say something to make Khabib want to attack him.

Beef.
That man @ManelKape always act like a fool. Disrespectful punk to weigh ins and on twitter. I would have beaten our ugly ass in South Africa.

I've always given Brendan Schaub a ton of sh * t (with good reason), but he's definitely going a lot better. His interview with Luke was good. The hand raised on that one – I was kind of hurt.
Thank you for reading and at Monday.
