A few weeks after several former NetherRealm employees shared grim accounts of their work at the studio, Injustice and Deadly fight developer is committed to investigate their claims.
In a statement to Variety, a spokesman for NetherRealm said:

We actively review all allegations because we take these issues very seriously and work tirelessly to improve the environment of our business. The allegations against NetherRealm go far beyond the crisis. According to a recent report by US Gamer, the studio hired temporary workers who were looking to break into the video game industry and had them crammed into "windowless" rooms. They were paid little to encourage them to work overtime for a higher salary.
Shaun Himmerick, Studio Manager, was specifically named by some former employees who shared their poignant experiences. An employee alleged that Injustice An online leak resulted in Himmerick humiliating and shouting at the staff, threatening him with being sued and blacklisted in the industry.
Prior to the US Gamer report, several former employees used social media to state that they were often harassed and forced to work on weekends. At least two employees attempted to sue, resulting in the termination of their contract.

"I left with scars and the fear of an industry that deeply fascinates me. I do not like being a story. I just want management to look at least the other side and try to be better. "
