Charli D’Amelio, TikTok’s most popular teenager, has reached 100 million subscribers. She is the very first designer on the platform to reach the milestone.

The 16-year-old celebrated on Instagram Live, saying she didn’t know how to react. She’s also released several TikToks to celebrate, naturally.

Following D’Amelio in the rankings are his fellow teen dancer Addison Rae, who currently has over 68 million followers, and special effects artist Zach King, who has over 52 million.

Few celebrities and influencers have crossed the 100 million mark on other social platforms, like Instagram. For reference, Beyonce has 155 million followers on Instagram, Gigi Hadid 60 million and Rihanna 87 million.

D’Amelio’s path to 100 million followers hit the road last week, when she and her family had backlash for their behavior in a YouTube video. She lost nearly a million followers but bounced back over the weekend.

D’Amelio first joined the platform in 2019 and started posting videos on dance trends. A TikTok that she posted of herself recreating dancer Jalaiah Harmon’s “Renegade” choreography then made D’Amelio more famous and catapulted her into the limelight.

What followed was a series of high profile business deals and career changes that solidified his visibility and success. Earlier this year, D’Amelio and his whole family signed with a management company, which spawned a series of great features (a Super Bowl commercial, for one), his own Dunkin ‘drink, a makeup line. Morphe 2 with his sister, Dixie and a podcast duet.

According to Forbes, D’Amelio has earned more than $ 4 million so far in 2020. However, she is TikTok’s second-largest source of income behind Rae, who she estimates to have earned $ 5 million.
