A 40-year-old mother and 2-year-old son suffered a fatal fall from the lobby level at Petco Park in San Diego during a Padres baseball game on Saturday.

The level was estimated to be around six floors, and mother and child were pronounced dead at the scene, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

Police said the deaths “looked suspicious,” adding that it was too early to know if the fall was an accident, Union-Tribune said.

“Our hearts are obviously with the family, but also with the people who might be traumatized here and who have seen this,” homicide lieutenant Andra Brown told the Union-Tribune. “It’s a horrible, horrible thing. That’s why we ‘I make it look very serious.

The Hill contacted the San Diego Police Department for more information.
