Motorola has launched the Moto E6S and its first ever Android LED LED TVs in India. The new gadgets of the Moto range are aimed at the country's categories of smartphones and affordable televisions.

The Moto E6S is essentially a well-known version of the Moto E6 Plus launched a few weeks ago at the IFA show in Berlin. The entry-level Moto E6S upgrades the chipset, the screen, the cameras and virtually everything else compared to the Moto E6 announced in July.

Moto TV, on the other hand, is a totally new product. This is Motorola's debut in the smart TV segment, all over the world. Although the TV carries the Moto logo, it is licensed by the Flipkart e-commerce platform in India.

Here is an overview of two new Moto devices owned by Lenovo.

Moto E6S: Features and Prices

Another entering India already very busy. Category Moto 10 000, the Moto E6S has a price and characteristics comparable to those of Xiaomi Redmi 7, Realme C2 and Vivo Y91.

Motorola explains that the Moto E6 Plus brand change internationally at Moto E6S in India has been made solely on the basis of the storage variant launched in the country.

The phone features a 6.1-inch (720 x 1560-pixel) HD + display with a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio. It has a circular notch on top. Moto qualifies the display for "Max Vision" given its screen / body ratio of 80%.

An Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P22 chipset with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU is at the heart of the device.

While the Helio P22 is a decent average entry-level processor with the eight Cortex A-53 cores, the Redmi 7 Snapdragon 632 also adds juice to the Cortex A-73 cores, giving it an edge over the P22.

Meanwhile, the Moto E6S has 4GB of RAM, one of the highest in this category. It comes with 64GB of expandable storage (up to 512GB with a dedicated slot) and a removable 3000 mAh battery.

The plastic back of the Moto E6S is also removable and sports a fingerprint reader fused with the Moto logo.

There is a two-camera configuration on the back of the Moto E6S, from the single-camera configuration of its predecessor. The phone receives a main sensor of 13MP at f / 2 and a secondary sensor of 2MP to capture the depth information.

The setup will help you take pictures of bokeh and portrait. The Moto E6S camera also uses an embellishment mode to soften skin tones.

There is an 8MP selfie launcher housed in the front notch that helps in facial recognition.

For connectivity, the Moto E6S has Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi, but no NFC. There is an FM radio on the device, a popular inclusion for smartphones in India. There is a headphone jack on the top edge and the phone carries the outgoing micro USB port.

As for software, the Moto E6S comes with Android 9 Pie. The experience is fully stored on Android without any bloatware. The update of Android 10 is however not clear.

The Moto E6S is sold in India at Rs. 7,999 (~ $ 111) and will be available in polished graphite and rich cranberry. Moto says that a variant of Cosmic Blue would also be available by the end of October.

Phone sales begin September 23rd on Flipkart.

Motorola TVs: Specifications and Prices

The new range of Moto TVs consists of six TVs made in India. The category of products is the first Moto and will remain for the moment exclusive to India.

Motorola 65 inch TV screen

To be honest, these TVs are not Motorola, except for the fact that they run Android like Moto phones. The company has a partnership with Flipkart, which will be responsible for licensing and marketing. They are manufactured and assembled at Skyworth's facilities in Hyderabad, India.

For now, Moto's entry into the television category looks like an attempt to compete with Xiaomi, which currently dominates the Indian TV space with a 39% market share.

Motorola's range of LED TVs starts from a 32-inch HD Ready basic TV and goes up to a 4-inch 65-inch unit. In between, there is a 43-inch FHD model, a 43-inch UHD variant, a 50-inch UHD version, and a 55-inch UHD option.

All TVs use the Android TV interface. Moto claims that they all come with Dolby Vision certification for HDR 10 content. A sound bar is attached to the bottom of the screen with 20W-30W front speakers (depending on the variant).

Moto says that the display allows comfortable viewing angles to 178 degrees. However, given their prices, no TV supports local dimming to improve blacks.

On the hardware side, Motorola TVs combine a MediaTek quad-core chipset with a Mali graphics processor, up to 2.25 GB of RAM and up to 16 GB of storage. All run Android 9 with support for Google Play Store. Users will also be able to access Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar and other popular streaming services.

In addition, Motorola TVs offer built-in support for Chromecast and voice commands with Google Assistant. The Dedicated Wizard, Play Store, YouTube and Netflix buttons are on the plastic remote control.

One of Moto's selling points for new TVs is that they come with a Bluetooth-compatible dual joystick joystick. This is for people who like to play Android games on their TV.

The prices for the Motorola TV range are as follows:

  • 43-inch HDR TV: Rs 13,999
  • 43 inch FHD TV: 24,999 Rs
  • 43 inch UHD (4K) TV: Rs 29,999
  • UHD 50 inch TV (4K): Rs 33,999
  • 55 inch (4K) UHD TV: Rs 39,999
  • 65 inch UHD TV (4K): Rs 64,999
