Motorola One Zoom is the most beautiful phone I've seen in years

I did not expect it at all.

The Lenovo Motorola has launched a new mid-range phone at IFA Berlin, which changes the game in several ways. First of all, it has a powerful quad-camera at the back, which is very nice for a phone that costs only $ 449.99.

But the design of the phone is even more striking. On the front, it is only another phone with a notch-shaped water drop: nothing extraordinary, but not too bad no more. On the back, the four cameras are placed symmetrically, in a bump of approximate size, also sporting the brilliant Motorola logo. The bump is a shade of dark gray with a silvery outline – a perfect match for the brushed metal back of the phone. This makes me want to have this phone just for its look, which has not happened forever.

Maybe it's just me, see imaginary things. Or maybe it's the fact that this phone arrives at a time when Apple is about to launch a new iPhone with rear bump camera that – judging by leaks, rumors and renders – hits all the bad places. The design of Motorola One Zoom suits me perfectly – I constantly imagine an iPhone with a bursting Apple logo under a set of centrally placed symmetric cameras, and that 's the kind of phone that I' d like. would gladly (OK, a little less reluctantly) thousands of dollars for.

Enough about design Let's talk about these cameras. I did not have the time to test them, but the specifications are impressive. A 48 megapixel main sensor, which assembles pixels to produce 12 megapixel light photos, is paired with a 16 megapixel wide angle sensor, 8 megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 5 megapixel depth sensor . On the front, the 25-megapixel camera that can also produce photos at four pixels per pixel, 6.25 megapixels in low light conditions, should be enough to take proper selfies. The only thing missing (and this is a big omission) is the 4K video recording on the rear camera; Curiously, the front camera can take a 4K video at 30 frames per second.

The rest of the specs are flat in the mid-range territory: a 6.4-inch OLED display, 2340×1,080 pixels, a Snapdragon 675 processor, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a 4000 mAh battery and Android 9 Pie. A headphone jack is also included.

At $ 450, the Motorola One Zoom is not the best in terms of performance; this honor goes to Xiaomi. But it remains cheaper than many flagship products, with its awesome look and awesome camera specifications, it should find its way to many buyers.
