MP defends sermon and declares "kill gays"

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee (WVLT) – A deputy at the Knox County Sheriff's Office, pastor of All Scripture Baptist Church, defended his controversial sermon during his services on the night of Wednesday, June 12.

WVLT News reporter Robert Grant was invited to attend the service and listened to Grayson Fritts tell his congregation that he was only defending the principles of the Bible and calling other Baptist preachers "weak and alive." not to do the same. Frits said, "As much as God loves, God hates."

Frits said he had never called on civilians to commit acts of violence against homosexuals. He told his congregation Wednesday night that the responsibility lay with the government. Grant listened to Fritts finish his comment by saying, "Put gays to death."

The KCSO detective went on the defensive Wednesday evening after the sermon on June 2, 2019, calling the police to impose a biblical passage that prescribes the death penalty to punish homosexuality. The sermon gave rise to an investigation by the Knox County Attorney's Office.

"Our government, like the police, should apply Leviticus 20:13," said Fritts during a service to All Scripture Baptist Church during the sermon titled "Sodomite Reprobates." ".

The biblical version of Leviticus according to King James says, "If a man also lays with men as he lies with a woman, they both have committed an abomination: they will surely be put to death, their blood will be upon them."

Fritts made several violent statements in his sermon, calling the non-straight "monsters, animals" and other names. He expressed the belief that it is the duty of the police and the government to enforce the anti-homosexual laws described in the Bible.

"This is how it should work, it should not work when we go out and apply the laws, because the Bible says that the powers in place are ordained of God and that God has instilled the power of the civil government to send the police in 2019 to these LGBT FREAKS and stop them, "he said. "Have a lawsuit in front of them, and if they are found guilty, they must be put to death … do you understand that? It is a capital crime that our government must commit."

Fritts has been a pastor at the church for two years and should give his sermon on Wednesday as usual.

God said that homosexuality should be punished with the death penalty, as stated in Leviticus 20:13. No homosexual will be allowed to attend or join any Baptist Church of the Scriptures. "

The sheriff's office said that just days before delivering the sermon, Fritts had requested early retirement from the department.

Knox County Sheriff Tom Spangler said Grayson Fritts made the request two weeks before June 12th.

Fritts was named detective of the month by the Knox County Sheriff's Office in 2017 after placing a suspect in a violent house break-in within 24 hours.

A spokesman for the Knox County Attorney told WVLT News that his office had opened an investigation into the case.
