Universal and Shyamalan have teamed up for these last three movies, Glass (2019), Split (2017) and Visit (2015).

"Mr. Night Shyamalan continues to create exciting and highly original stories that keep global audiences on the edge of their seats, "said Universal Pictures president Peter Cramer in a statement. "There is no one like him: he is a filmmaker working at the pinnacle of his powers and we are honored that he once again chose Universal to host his next two incredible projects."

Shyamalan added, "There are wonderful studios on the market, but Universal is given a mandate to release original films. They are the best to find an audience for new stories with unexpected tones. I think the original films are essential to the longevity of the theatrical experience. "

All in all, Shyamalan's films have raised more than $ 3.3 billion in global box office over the past two decades. Glass, the culmination of his Eastrail 177 trilogy, brought in $ 250 million worldwide earlier this year (Disney took care of the film abroad). In 2017, Split $ 278.5 million, preceded by $ 98.4 million for Visit.

Shyamalan independently funded the three images, whose combined budget was only $ 35 million. He will also finance his next two films.

With regard to other projects, Shyamalan is preparing for the publication of the Servant, a series of 10 episodes of psychological thriller that will debut on Apple's new streaming service. In addition to the executive production of the series, he directed two episodes, including the pilot.
