NEW YORK (AP) – Mr. Potato Head is no longer a gentleman.
Hasbro, the company that makes the plastic potato-shaped toy, gives the spud a new neutral name: Potato Head. The change will appear on the boxes this year.

Toy makers have updated their classic brands to appeal to kids today. Barbie has lost her blonde image and now comes in many different skin tones and body shapes. Thomas the Tank Engine added more female characters. And American Girl now sells a boy doll.
Hasbro said Mr. Potato Head, who has been around for about 70 years, needs a modern makeover.
