MTA Board approves rate increases, base rate remaining at $ 2.75

NEW YORK CITY –

The MTA Board of Directors approved the rate increases.

After two hours of listening to community stakeholders by the MTA board committee, Board members approved the tariff.

The base fare for subway or bus trips will remain at $ 2.75, while eliminating the bonus that passengers receive when purchasing a paid MetroCard.
