Gina Krasley, known to reality TV viewers as the new star of TLC’s “My 600-lb Life”, has passed away. She was 30 years old.
Her official cause of death was not announced, but she died Sunday at her Tuckerton, NJ home, “surrounded by her loving family” at the time, according to her obituary.
Krasley joined the TLC series in 2020 – which chronicled the lives of obese people undergoing gastric bypass surgeries – and was featured in an episode called “Time is Running Our For Gina,” which has nearly a million views on Youtube.
“My life has been difficult,” Krasley admitted in the clip’s heartbreaking introduction. “… I’ve always felt all my life like I’m just being pushed under the rug.”
She had recently posted videos on social media about health issues that had left her immobile with severe pain in her extremities.
“’I remember what made me forget that the pain of being abandoned was eating – and by the age of 10 I already weighed over 150 pounds,” Krasley said on her TLC show.
At 14, she weighed over 300 pounds, but she continued to turn to food as an “escape,” she said. “As I got closer to 500 pounds, it started to get harder to do things. “
She has lived her entire life in Ocean County, having resided in Forked River, Barnegat and Tuckerton for the past six years.
“Her biggest passion was dancing and she invented dances with her sister and her neighborhood children as she grew up,” according to her family’s statement. She started the TikTok trend “there is no size limit to dancing” and “dreamed of someday opening a dance studio for children with special needs”.
In addition to her reality TV stint, she appeared in a small role in the 1998 independent film “Walking to the Waterline” and she “enjoyed playing video games and spending time with her family.”
In an omission perhaps too glaring to be an oversight, Krasley’s heartfelt obituary made no mention of his recent appearance in “My 600-lb.” Life, ”which some critics have accused of exploiting the struggles of obese people. The Post reached out to TLC for comment on the star’s death.

Gina was killed by her father, Anthony Snyder, and her grandfather, Angelo Perullo, according to her obituary.
She is survived by her mother Cathy Devereux, his wife Elizabeth Krasley of six years, her sister Ali Samuels and her brother-in-law Keith, her grandmother Stella Perullo, her grandparents Michael and Annette Tubito, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins, her dog Bubba and her cat Daisy.
Visitations will be on Sunday August 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd. Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey. The family asks the participants to wear pink or purple, which were Gina’s favorite colors.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to mental health charities of their choice.
