My Hero Academia: Vigilantes explored a new flashback as he delves into Knuckleduster’s past before he became a vigilante, and like many other flashbacks we’ve seen in this spinoff series before showing off many unexpected cameos from the main series . Because it takes place years before Kohei Horikoshi’s original manga, fans have been aware of new take on the heroes and villains of the original series. Now it looks like we’re going to see a new version of All For One.
Chapter 89 of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes continues to delve into Knuckleduster’s past, and a mission he had as pro speedster hero O’Clock was investigating a mysterious battle ring where illegal experiments were conducted. When chaos erupts in the ring, it looks like Knuckleduster is preparing to take on the franchise’s biggest villain, All For One.
The chapter picks up immediately after a young Mirko (before she became the love of Rabbit Hero fans in the main series) begins a riot in the underground battle ring. The previous cliffhanger saw All For One comment on all the powerful quirks activated in that enclosed space, and this chapter sees him act on it when a mysterious smoke rolls up.
This gas begins to forcibly activate everyone’s quirks and is the same type of booster we saw used earlier in the series. Taking advantage of the confusion, All For One begins to collect various quirks as it takes cover from the gas and warps around the area. He almost manages to grab Mirko, but Knuckleduster is able to run to his side and save her just in time.
Unfortunately, that put O’Clock on the All For One radar. As fans already know, the Knuckleduster quirk was stolen from her by the villain and she was ultimately transferred to number six. That means we’ll see that fateful showdown soon as this flashback sets up the end of Knuckleduster’s hero days.
