Mysterious third monolith appears in California, after finds in Utah, Romania

ANGELS – Last month, a mysterious silver monolith gained wide attention after it disappeared from a remote area of ​​Utah. Another similar structure appeared in Romania, but also disappeared later. Hundreds of people came to see the sparkling objects – almost from another world – and now a mysterious third monolith has appeared in California.

On Wednesday morning, a monument similar in appearance to structures in Utah and Romania was installed on top of Atascadero’s Pine Mountain.

According to the Atascadero News, dozens of local hikers made the trek to the top of Pine Mountain to marvel at the 10-foot-tall, 18-inch-wide object.

“Unlike its brother in Utah, the Atascadero Obelisk was not attached to the ground and could be knocked down with a firm push. The Atascadero News estimates that he weighs around 200 pounds, ”the outlet reported.

“There is currently a monolith on top of Pine Mountain in Atascadero,” Connor Allen, Paso Robles Press and Atascadero News correspondent, tweeted Wednesday, providing photos of the strange structure.

Gary Lyons, who runs and hikes Pine Mountain regularly throughout the week, said he encountered the object Wednesday morning and was not present the day before.

The third such structure has led people to question the reasoning behind the erection of the Silver Monuments – is it a clever marketing stunt, aliens or something else?

At the end of last month, the first such monolith disappeared from a remote area of ​​Utah. Police in the area said they would not open a major investigation into his disappearance.

The structure was first spotted on November 18 in a remote area of ​​red rock by state helicopter crews helping wildlife biologists count bighorn sheep. It was about 11 feet tall with sides that appeared to be stainless steel. Its creator remains a mystery.

A Nov. 23 statement from the Utah Department of Public Safety said officials had “no obvious indication” of who might have put him there.

But as soon as it was discovered, it disappeared. On November 28, the Utah Bureau of Land Management said in a statement that the object had been kicked out of the area “by an unknown person”.

Instagram user Ross Bernards said he visited the monolith on the evening of November 27 to take photos of the mysterious object, and he saw four men dismantle the structure and complete it with a wheelbarrow.

“They quickly broke it and as they carried the wheelbarrow they had brought one of them looked at us all and said ‘Leave no trace’,” Bernards wrote in an Instagram post recounting the moment.

The local San Juan County Sheriff’s Office said it would not investigate the capture of the object, which was initially illegal because it had been placed without permission among red rocks on an isolated section of public lands.

Shortly before the disappearance of the Utah monolith, a monolithic structure was installed on Batca Doamnei hill in Romania on November 26.

“There was no visible evidence of how the object got to the top of the mountain, but daily hiker Ray Johnson said he was not there on Tuesday,” Atascadero News reported.

According to a Reuters report, the Romanian monolith disappeared four days later.

“The 2.8-meter-high structure disappeared overnight as silently as it had been erected last week,” reporter Robert Iosub of local newspaper Ziar Piatra Neamt told Reuters. “An unidentified person, apparently a bad local welder, did it … now there is only a small hole left covered with rocky ground.”
