Rape charges stemming from a 2017 indictment against Mystikal were dropped due to a lack of evidence. A grand jury has returned a No True Bill against Mystikal, real name Michael Lawrence Tyler, 50, who was arrested for first degree rape in 2017.
After his arrest in 2017, a grand jury indicted Tyler on one count each of first degree rape and second degree kidnapping. “However, additional evidence and information has been uncovered and the case has been resubmitted to this second grand jury in the interests of justice,” the prosecutor’s office noted Thursday. “Based on the grand jury’s decision, the Caddo Parish Prosecutor’s Office will dismiss the pending charges against Mr. Tyler.”
