N.F.L. Draft 2019: Cardinals choose Kyler Murray No. 1

4. Oakland Raiders: Clelin Ferrell, DE

In the era of specialization, Ferrell is about as versatile as his opponents. It can be effective against running while finding its way to the quarter easily, and there is no reason to believe that it could not start right away. Its ceiling is somewhat limited due to a lack of interior movements and conditioning issues that have seen it wear over the matches, but its floor is very high.

3. New York Jets: Quinnen Williams, DT

It seems like a day will come when every team will have a dominant inside lineman in Alabama. Williams may be the latest in a long lineage of players that fits this general description, but that should not diminish the effectiveness with which he could be effective from the first day, provided the team plays hard with his assets. Williams is a natural athlete who has repeatedly demonstrated good instincts on the field, but the only real concern with him is that he may have a hard time maintaining the mass needed to tackle the doubles teams. He will have to prove that he can increase his weight or successfully use his speed and technique to make up for what is a disadvantage.

How it fits: The main need of the Jets was to make a difference, but they decided to hire an inside lineman. They ended up with a player who was at the top of some lists in terms of potential in this project. Josh Allen seems quite surprising, as well as the decision not to trade in hopes of filling more quickly the closets of the team.
