N.J. man accused of stabbing in a park that caused 2 injuries

A 27-year-old man was arrested Friday following a brawl and stabbing in a park in Monmouth County, in which two people were injured, authorities said.

Brennan C. Bland, 27, of Middletown, has been charged with aggravated assault, terrorist threats and two firearms offenses, police said.

The police arrived at McMahon Park in Middletown around 4:30 pm and found one of the victims of the knife attack, who gave the officers a description of the assailant and his vehicle . The investigators quickly found the second victim and located Bland a few minutes later, officials said.

One of the stabbed people was treated at the park. The other was taken to the Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment for a torso injury that is not considered life threatening.

Bland was sent to Monmouth County Jail pending a court appearance.
