Bombay: Popular actors from the South Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Akkineni announced their separation on Saturday October 2. The estranged couple took to social media to let their fans know that they have split as husband and wife. Rumors of their separation have been circulating on the internet since Samantha removed the last name “Akkineni” from her Instagram account.
Naga Chaitanya’s father and veteran actor Nagarjuna has expressed grief over his son’s separation from Samantha. He posted a note on his official Facebook account and said his family will always cherish the time spent with the “Jaanu” actress.

“With a heavy heart, let me say this! What happened between Sam and Chay is very unfortunate. What happens between a woman and her husband is very personal. Sam and Chay are both dear to me. My family will always cherish the time spent with Sam and they will always be dear to us! May God bless them both with strength, ”Nagarjuna Akkineni wrote on Facebook.
Samantha and Naga Chaitanya have released a statement to confirm their separation. They asked fans and the media to respect their privacy.
“To all our supporters. After much deliberation and reflection, Chay and I decided to go our separate ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was at the very heart of our relationship which we believe will always maintain a special bond between us. We ask our fans, supporters and the media to support us during this difficult time and to give us the privacy we need to move forward. Thank you for your support, ”read the press release.
Samantha and Naga have separated after four years of marriage. They were married in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on October 6, 2017 in Goa. They were then married according to Christian rituals on October 7 in the presence of their relatives.

On a related note, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao also separated after 15 years of marriage in July 2021. They co-parent their son Azad Rao.
