OSHAKATI – Ohorongo Cement Since its inception, the company has started sourcing sacks of cement from South Africa and began sourcing KAPTAU bags in Oshakati.
KAPTAU is the first local company to produce cement.
Although the company has been on the map since 2013, it did not become operational until last year and now has the mandate to produce one million bags in Ohorongo at the end of the month. ;August.

Ohorongo's general manager, Hans-Wilhelm Shütte, said that Ohorongo was already packed. its cement in the bags provided by KAPTAU.
He added that an institution such as KAPTAU is proof that Namibia is on the right track to industrialize through The Homegrown Growth Strategy and its National Development Plans (NDPs) .
Shütte was optimistic that KAPTAU would provide sustainable jobs for Namibians.
Currently, the company employs 25 employees, the majority of whom are women. Kutalu said that apart from creating jobs, KAPTAU would continue to reduce the import of cement bags.
Namalenga is optimistic about the addition of new machines in the future, which will increase its daily output and create new jobs. Asked whether the bags produced at KAPTAU are of good quality, Shütte was good to add that Ohorongo made no compromise on the quality.
