The Carolina Panthers could be without a key addition off season for the defense for a while.

Cornerback Ross Cockrell who joined the Panthers for a two-year free will agreement, was removed from the field on Monday with a broken leg, by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network Insider

Cockrell shouted: " My leg is broken ."

Panthers coach Ron Rivera ended the practice after the injury, the party said.

With Daryl Worley now with the Oakland Raiders, Cockrell had to be competing for a starting job in front of James Bradberry.

While the Panthers have Bradberry, rookie Donte Jackson, Corn Elder and Lorenzo Doss, among others, on the lineup, the depth of the team at the corner half will be tested if Cockrell lacks time . Cockrell started 32 games over his four-year career.

Here are other wounds we are watching:

1. Detroit Lions Defender LeGarrette Blount returned to work Monday after leaving Sunday training, according to team reporter Tim Twentyman . Denver Broncos tackle left Garett Bolles was removed from the field on Monday after shooting in the chin. The coach of the Broncos Vance Joseph told reporters that he was rated for a head injury. Per Troy Renck of ABC 7 Denver Bolles fell hard during an exercise and seemed nauseated before heading to the locker room.

3. The linebacker Packers Jake Ryan was removed from the field after sustaining a leg injury, according to Michael Cohen of The Athletic. We saw him grab his right knee and scream in pain.

4. Cincinnati Bengals tight Tyler Eifert (back) has passed his physique and is now off the list physically unable to perform.
