WINDHOEK – Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness and his high-level delegation arrived in Namibia yesterday afternoon for a four-day state visit

International relations and cooperation, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Christine // Hoebes and Minister of Environment and Tourism Pohamba Shifeta welcomed Holness to the Hosea Kutako International Airport yesterday
Culture, Genre, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange, and Namibia at the invitation of President Hage Geingob

In a statement issued yesterday by the Presidency, the press secretary Alfredo Hengari said that diplomatic relations between Namibia and Jamaica date back to August. 27, 1990.

Hengari says that Namibia and Jamaica signed a framework cooperation agreement in 1990, and during Mr. Holness's visit, Mr. Hengari indicated that Namibia would strive to Deepen cooperation with Jamaica in the fields of fisheries, education, logistics and sport.

Holness and his delegation is scheduled to visit Heroes Acre on Tuesday, where he is expected to lay a wreath in honor of fallen heroes.

In addition, Holness will visit Walvis Bay and Swakopmund on Tuesday. In Walvis Bay, he will visit the Port Authority of Namibia (Namport).

The Jamaican delegation consists of Grange; the director of communication in the Prime Minister's Office; and heads of bilateral relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, among others.
