Orioles depleted in number of players miss the Yankees 6-3

After the hectic and frenetic afternoon that marked the deadline for no-surrender transactions – which saw the Orioles rebuild shockingly swap Jonathan Schoop, Kevin Gausman and Darren O 'Day – the baseball game The evening was essentially an afterthought. But the result was familiar: a loss of Orioles.

This game was a perfect reminder that, as Mark Brown wrote, the Orioles are going to be hard to watch for a moment. Yes, yes, I know – they were already hard to watch. But now, they have traded a lot of their stars and will be rubbing themselves with Quadruple-A players and other unworthy replacements. At some point, some prospects will be sprinkled in the mix, but they will go through growth pains. So we will see many more games like this one, where the O's will be devoured by the talent gap between them and their opponents.

The tonight's Orioles had only two players with OBP over .300 this year (Adam Jones and Mark Trumbo, both at .312). Only three had a better OPS than .700: Jones (.747), Trumbo (.741) and, in a way, Joey Rickard (.706). Chris Davis, Trey Mancini and Tim Beckham were joined by Jace Peterson, Renato Nunez and Austin Wynns. The thrower of the Birds was Yefry Ramirez, a dubious beginner in the big league.

How did this group of stinking pugilists succeed against the Yankees? Well … not great! The Os were completely crushed, as their lineup of poor hitters remained rather quiet, while their slender throwing and defensive play imploded.

Ramirez, entering this match, had never launched more than five rounds in the major league. He still does not have any. In fact, he should not have gone that far in this game. Ramirez has found himself in embarrassment with a pair of first-round balls, establishing a mere GBI of Gleyber Torres. In the third, the shortstop Tim Beckham put Ramirez in hot water by slipping a grounder to put two runners on board; a Didi Gregorius bloop alone plated one.

Yet Ramirez stayed reasonably well until the fifth, when things quickly escalated. The Yankees loaded the bases with nobody on a drummer, single and walk. Greg Bird contributed a fly bag to make it a 3-0 game while the number of Ramirez throws increased in the 90s.

As soon as I said the words, "The Orioles give Ramirez a long rope here, "he's strangled with. Miguel Andujar crashed a three-point home run against the left field seats to extend the lead to 6-0

From there, everything was over except screaming. Masahiro Tanaka had a relatively easy time with the Orioles' punch-free alignment, throwing six shutout innings and removing eight. The O's have at least made it work for 105 shots, but that's not really a big advantage considering that the Yankees' paddock is, like, 10 pitchers

. O have finally managed to catch up some races in the eighth against AJ Cole. A single and a walk allowed Peterson, a former Yankee, to take two on board, which allowed the two riders to return home with a doubled right. With Trumbo at home, receiver Kyle Higashioka let slip a net from Cole. Peterson took third place and Higashioka shot the ball into the left field, allowing the runner to score. That's all. The Orioles, an already terrible team that has been emptied of their best players, simply did not have the talent to follow tonight. This will happen again, many times. Get used to that.

This does not mean that the Orioles made the wrong decision selling. The team died in the water since the month of April, the organization lacked young talent and reconstruction was absolutely necessary. One day, hopefully, this year's audacious Orioles crafts could give birth to another exciting ball club.
