WINDHOEK – A senior police officer who was arrested Friday for threatening to expose his wife on social networks and kill her was released Monday after the prosecutor's office General refused to continue. The officer, who has the rank of chief inspector, did not even appear in court on Monday.

Similarly, a 40-year-old police officer, Richard Dreyer, was arrested in Koës for allegedly assaulting his 32-year-old wife at a local club in town Friday night. Dreyer is stationed at the police station in the city.
"The suspect caught the complainant on her braids and exited the club, kicked her in the face, causing her bruises on her forehead and a swollen right eye. Karas Regional Police Crimes Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Chrispin Mubebo, told New Era that Dreyer had appeared in court yesterday and received a bond of N $ 1,000 that he had paid.
