Yesterday afternoon (24 July), Prime Minister Andrew Holness met with Jamaican and Caribbean nationals living in Namibia as part of his official visit to southern Africa.
The Prime Minister has addressed the diaspora discussing issues involving the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and, by extension, Jamaica.

The Prime Minister declared that he recognized the solidarity and support t between Namibia and Jamaica. He said that he was also grateful for the support of the Caribbean diaspora.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Holness boasted, National Hero, the excellent Rt Dr. Marcus Garvey as a true Diaspora who used knowledge and political independence to become a catalyst for change for those in Jamaica. The Government of Namibia named Monday (July 23) a street in honor of Jamaica's first national hero, Dr. Marcus Garvey.
Prime Minister Holness is to visit South Africa to participate in the BRICS plus summit with other BRICS state and government leaders as well as with the UN Secretary General
