The Texas Rangers exchanged Keena Kela's right hand late Monday night for the Pittsburgh Pirates for their No. 7 hope, southpaw Taylor Hearn, and a player to name.
The Rangers and Pirates first said The trade was for two players to name because the Pirates could not reach Hearn, who comes from Royse City. The 6-foot-5 Hearn, who turns 24 on August 30, has reached 98 mph with his fastball, and his best off-speed throw is a change.
Hearn is 3-6 with a 3.12 ERA in 19 starts for Double A Altoona. General Manager Jon Daniels said the Rangers will not pick the player to be named for at least a few weeks.

Daniels said the Rangers are still working on other trades before the deadline for Tuesday's nonwaiver trade (15:00 CDT), but there is no need to wait for an exchange between Adrian Beltre, the third goal.
