Ken Giles, who had 34 saves for world champion Houston Astros last season, was sent Wednesday to Triple-A Fresno
Right handed three points without recording an out-of-field in Houston 6- 5, added victory against Oakland on Tuesday. When manager A.J. Hinch pulled him out of the game, Giles mumbled what seemed like an expletive as he was leaving the mound. Asked about this after the match, Hinch said that he should ask Giles if she was directed against him.
This was not the first Giles blast this season. He hit the figure after a previous bad exit.
Giles has 12 saves but a 4.99 ERA this season after posting a 2.30 ERA in 2017.
Giles' troubles go back to the playoffs last season. He was 0-2 with a 11.74 ERA in 7⅔ innings. He awarded five earned runs in the first round in the World Series against the Dodgers.
The Astros recalled left handed Cionel Perez of Double-A Corpus Christi on Wednesday.
Brad Peacock and Chris Devenski There are chances for Houston, but the Astros also have Will Harris, Hector Rondon and Joe Smith in the bullpen.
The Astros were 30 games out of .500 and had a four-game lead in the American AHL entering the play on Wednesday.
