Controversy over another wrong casting decision Scarlett Johansson continues to reverberate as several prominent transgender actors have spoken of his future role as trans man.
When it was announced that Johansson had signed as the real owner of massage parlor Dante "Tex" Gill, a transgender man, in Rub & Tug the cast was greeted with a lot of reaction , much like Johansson's casting in Ghost in the Shell, where she played a Japanese manga character.
Johansson aroused greater chaos with his dull response to critics, issued by his representative at Bustle :
Tell them that they can be directed to Jeffrey Tambor, Jared Leto , and representatives of Felicity Huffman to comment
The eminent transgender actors have taken their problems with the cast to Twitter. For them, the problem is multi-layered: cisgender actors are paid to play trans, but trans actors are not in cisgender roles, and just because other actors have been applauded for trans roles in the past, that does not mean the wrong decision-making should continue.
Trace Lysette of Transparent and Ian Harvie were among those who took Johansson to task.
Oh word ?? So you can continue to play us but we can not play it? Hollywood is so screwed up … I would not be so angry if I found myself in the same rooms as Jennifer Lawrence and Scarlett for cis roles, but we know that's not the case. A mess. https://t.co/s8gBlBI1Sw

And not only are you playing and stealing our story and our opportunity but you're tapping in the back with trophies and braces to mimic what we lived … so crooked. I've finished so much …

What does CIS WHITE FEMALE PRIVILEGE look like? #ScarlettJohansson does not feel the need for her answers herself – she redirects her audience to other people in the industry who are mistaken but who "win prizes". Is she also enough of an ass to assume that she will win a prize, that's what she .. pic.twitter.com/6iBwNoTTiS [19659009] – Ian Harvie (@ianharvie) July 4, 2018
Indya Moore, of the new FX hit drama POSE highlights the invaluable contribution of a transcriber to his performance
Wen cis plays trans men reduce the existential experience of a trans man like playing dress up. cis people can not tell stories that do not have the reach. If they did, they would empathize with the reality of what it is problematic, dismissive and fetishistic.

This is no different from the valid people who play folk with disabilities and win prizes for it. How do you tell the story of a human variant without involving trans people? Our xp is far too big and complex to be limited within the confines of the cis imagination. #how

You will fetish the trans experience by doing this movie. You can not create projects on the experience of trans people without using trans people because you delegitimize the respect of trans people as men and women.

And Sense 8's Jamie Clayton tweeted that transgender actors are still facing a difficult climb to get auditions to play trans roles. Laverne Cox Orange is the New Black retweeted Clayton's commentary.
Up to now, neither Johansson nor his representative have responded to comments about this latest series of reviews
It is also noteworthy that Rub & Tug is directed by Rupert Sanders, who also directed Ghost in the Shell . % 2f67909391 7c49 3163% 2fthumb% 2f00001 "src =" https://i.amz.mshcdn.com/I6YT7yMmWdXi2iEUU9NUyMheGIQ=/https%3A%2F%2Fvdist.aws.mashable.com%2Fcms%2F2018%2F7%2F67909391-7c49 -3163% 2Fthumb% 2F00001.jpg "data-fragment =" m! 1ac6 "data-image =" https://i.amz.mshcdn.com/I6YT7yMmWdXi2iEUU9NUyMheGIQ=/https%3A%2F%2Fvdist.aws.mashable. com% 2Fcms% 2F2018% 2F7% 2F67909391-7c49-3163% 2Fthumb% 2F00001.jpg "data-micro =" 1 "/>
