ANAHEIM, Calif. – Mike Trout, Albert Pujols and Shohei Ohtani all played in the same game for the first time, and the Los Angeles Angels led Chicago White Sox 11- 3 Wednesday night
Pujols passed Ken Griffey Jr. for sixth place on the career list with his 631st home run. Trout connected twice and driven in four points. Ohtani added a two-point shot at 446 feet.
Tyler Skaggs (8-6) tied a career high with nine strikeouts in innumerable innings for Los Angeles. He sniffed his first five hitters – the previous pitcher of the Angels to complete that was Jim Abbott in Oakland in September 1995.
Trout had another great day with his 13th multihomer game in his career. He had a solo shot in the first run and a three-point run in the sixth to give him 28 runs this season. The player par excellence twice went from 3 to 4 and scored three points.
Pujols made a solo hit on the left court in the second period, his 17th of the season. The 38-year-old slugger slid third in fourth place for his first stolen base this year.
Skaggs withdrew the first 10 batters he faced, seven by strikeouts. He awarded two points, one earned and four hits.
James Shields (4-12) had another tough exit for Chicago, giving up three home runs. He retired six batters in the first two innings, but also allowed two hits in this sequence. He allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks in four sets.
Kole Calhoun was fifth in the RBI, while the Angels qualified for a four-point rally. They added five points in the sixth.
Ohtani finished second for the third time this season. The rookie star of Japan has passed his ninth home race
