The event takes place at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The card is airing on FOX after preliminary preliminaries on the UFC Fight Pass
In the main event, former UFC lightweight champion and Bellator Eddie Alvarez (29-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC) meet his compatriot Dustin Poirier (23-5 MMA, 15-4 UFC) in a rematch. The first two fought at UFC 211 in May 2017, but the fight ended with a non-contest with Alvarez's illegal knees. After asking for revenge since then, Poirier has finally had it and is a little favorite in the sports book.
The main event features former featherweight champion Jose Aldo (26-4 MMA, 8-3 UFC) against veteran Jeremy Stephens (28-14 MMA, 15-13 UFC). Joanna Jedrzejczyk (14-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC), former female straw champion, is playing her first untitled fight since December 2014 when she meets Tecia Torres (10-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) .

Round 1 – Alvarez leads with a low blow, and Poirier returns with him. Alvarez at the beginning of a combination, and Pear tree resets and pulls jabs. Alvarez goes to the body and they exchange low blows. Attempted shooting at the beginning of Alvarez. Possible conflict of heads, and they reset themselves. Poirier fights a long time with forehands. Body kick of the bites of Alvarez. Next short attempt. Pear tree almost sweeps Alvarez from a kick, and he presses. Alvarez pushes him away with a combo, then goes to the body and head with a punch and a kick. Poirier gets covered with a combo and Alvarez changes level to guess pear tree. Round 2 – Alvarez gets closer and he bends over for one leg. Poirier remains standing and is surprised by a backfist. Poirier climbs up with a kick and slips, prompting Alvarez to wrap his head. Alvarez intervenes for the dismantling, and Poirier replies with a guillotine, jumping inside. Alvarez adjusts his legs and survives after a few difficult moments. He is now at the top, but Poirier gets up quickly. Clinch fest against the cage, and Alvarez backs off. Alvarez intervenes again, causing another guillotine attempt on the part of Poirier. This one is not good, and Alvarez is at the top. He takes his back as Poirier turns and turns his face. Poirier does not fight his hands and instead shoots short punches. Poirier does not even fight his hands because Alvarez does not have hooks. What he has next, however, is the mount against the fence. Poirier, sitting against him, is a sitting duck. Aldo with kick of the leg. Stephens misses to try to corner Aldo. Aldo tries to make his way in his right hand, then pulls a combo that connects. Stephens returns with a right hand. Suddenly, Aldo is in trouble. Stephens has Aldo stuck against the fence, and the short shots are damaging the ex-champion. He points and fires, but Stephens measures his shots. Aldo with a combo. Now, he moves ahead and skips Stephens, who is largely missing a spinning backfist. Aldo cracks with a straight right. Stephens with a shot. Aldo draws a blow. Stephens bleeds under the left eye. Aldo is pressed with punches, and now Stephens reloads. Aldo pulls on the body and drops Stephens, who clings to his life while Aldo finds himself in first position on the fence. Stephens turns to his knees, unable to recover, and Lavigne intervenes to stop the fight. Aldo has just silenced many skeptics. Incredible return for the ex-champion after getting in trouble. Replay shows a perfect image of the liver with a delayed response. Stephens could not hold on.

The left hook for Jedrzejczyk comes when Torres presses the fence and falls for disassembly. They exchange knees closely. Torres head control. Jedrzejczyk pulls his knees and uses a hook to create space. She turns Torres and pulls more knees. Torres wraps one leg, but gives it up. Elbow near Jedrzejczyk, and this is the halfway point. Torres drops again, but Jedrzejczyk makes it difficult to do anything with underhands and knees. She turns Torres and chokes her. Jedrzejczyk still there on the counter to launch more blows and come back until she marks exchanges. Until now, this is going to be a classic performance of the former champion on the feet. Torres is clearly frustrated, as she charges in an attempt to land with half the round left to work. Jedrzejczyk turns away and works on his knees. Torres falls and leads. Jedrzejczyk stretches and fights with a hook. Torres is forced to give up. Jedrzejczyk pushes Torres with a kick before. And here we are in the wheelhouse of Jedrzejczyk, assembling combinations of forehands and kicks. Torres does not match the rhythm. It seeks rather to get closer. Her aggression pays off with a frantic exchange where she surprises Jedrzejczyk with a punch. But it lacks time before it can capitalize. Round 3 – They exchange low kicks, and Jedrzejczyk closes with hits that connect. Head shot almost good, too. Jedrzejczyk returns to his element, leading the dance. Torres seems shy. Jedrzejczyk sends him with a kick and a punch. Torres tries to push back, but this time, she does not reach the fatal blow. Jedrzejczyk returns to his jab and his low blow. Nice jab of Jedrzejczyk. Torres poses a right hand, but takes a one-two on a kick of the leg, then another. Jedrzejczyk with a knee running along. She advances and attacks the lead leg again. Body kick opens an attempt to remove Torres. As before, Jedrzejczyk resists the single leg with a hook and a body turn. Knees meets Torres, and she is forced to give up again. Tour 1 – Hernandez leads with a head kick and exchange some with Aubin-Mercier. He tries to corner Aubin-Mercier with a flurry of punches, but his enemy escapes him. They meet in the central cage and block the respective hooks. Hernandez continues to support. Aubin-Mercier with a left hand, and both clinch. Hernandez turns Aubin-Mercier against the fence and takes off. The body kick and the head of Aubin-Mercier, and Hernandez eat a jab before being squeezed to the barrier. Aubin-Mercier suffocating Hernandez against the fence. Hernandez escapes and charges with a gust that ends with Aubin-Mercier's back against the fence. They separate, but it does not take long before they face each other and unhook. Aubin-Mercier lands on the left as Hernandez closes and rushes to the cage. Takedown attempt of Hernandez, but no dice. Hernandez still pursues his opponent, and Aubin-Mercier lands a good knee. Hernandez is not discouraged and continues to charge forward, firing hard. Another has given way to Aubin-Mercier, but it is not very successful in deterring Hernandez, who pushes him back to the barrier. Round 2 – Hernandez gets closer and gets a put down despite a win from Aubin-Mercier. Sitting against the fence, Aubin-Mercier makes his way and turns away. He enters melee and takes a knee before an attempt to counter-attack forces him to roll out. Aubin-Mercier trapped Hernandez at the back and rolled for Kimura. Now at the top, Aubin-Mercier is working to reject Hernandez's attempt. Aubin-Mercier is working to slow things down. Punches from above, and Hernandez uses an armbar attack to initiate jamming. Aubin-Mercier sits for a knee. Wild scramble, and the persistence of Hernandez is paying off with the first position. He can not do much until Goddard raises them. Hernandez pulls from the opening and pushes Aubin-Mercier to the fence. He can not hold it, but he keeps firing punches while Aubin-Mercier barely hold on. The pace of the fight is on the veterinarian "TUF". Hernandez sneaks into a body and drags it to the carpet. Some short shots, and the frame ends with Hernandez getting the score of 10-9. He is up from 20 to 18.
Round 3 – Touch of gloves, and Hernandez charges again, enclosing a clinch against the cage. Goddard intervenes to stop the fight with a low blow to Aubin-Mercier. Hernandez gets to work quickly, landing a shot of the body. The Aubin-Mercier hook removes it briefly, but it's just a punch. He jumps on his feet and quickly puts Aubin-Mercier on the carpet. Aubin-Mercier fades quickly to the rhythm of Hernandez. Terrain and book of the upper position. Hernandez postures and hits the body. Goddard warns against the action. He does not see enough after a few seconds, and he raises them. Aubin-Mercier pulls for a desperate withdrawal. The fence stops that, and Hernandez pushes it away and puts it on the carpet. We are back where we were. Aubin-Mercier manages to sweep Hernandez and get up with less than two minutes of work. He is frozen in the retreat position and Hernandez has returned. Hernandez pushes his head, and Aubin-Mercier manages to belittle him. Aubin-Mercier sits in first position. Hernandez uses a butterfly guard to initiate jamming. Mein suddenly sweeps Morono off the carpet, and he's waiting for his hour. Mein works to free his leg to pass. Morono ties his chest, and he tries to get Mein up. Now on guard, Mein works short shots while Morono attaches a body triangle. Suddenly, Peterson stops the action and raises them. Mein goes to fault and shoots some wild Morono chips, then sneaks in with the help of a takedown. Now in the side control, Mein remains heavy as Morono tries to triangulate his head. Keylock's attempt forces Morono to turn around and Mein wraps his head. Morono installs and tries to prevent Mein from moving forward, and the turn ends with Mein on guard. Round 1 – Arnett takes a kick after turning around early Dawodu. Then another one. He dodges the next, but a kick in the interior lands, and his high kick is met with another leg kick. Arnett takes another leg kick. Until now, it is the story of this round. No fighter has really committed strikes. But the leg kicks have an effect on Arnett, who circles and makes another appear as Arnett still tries to go high with his own kick. Arnett is getting closer to takedown. Dawodu pulls his leg, and we're back in the open field. Another kick, and Arnett changes position and jumps on his leg. Left hook for Dawodu, who eventually goes to the inside of the leg and turns a kick. Arnett strikes in a withdrawal attempt. Arnett is struggling to get through here. High kick bounces on his head. Round 2 – Arnett bounces from one side to the other. Another kick welcomes him. Dawodu goes to the body. Arnett advances and takes a shot of the body, but Arnett lands a right hand. The fight breaks out suddenly, with Arnett going forward and trying to put his right hand. Dawodu ends up sneaking, but there is no withdrawal, so we are back to standing. Another kick for Dawodu, who follows with an uppercut and a left hand. Arnett works his jab, and Dawodu retaliates with a combo. Arnett tries a demolition facility and Dawodu sees it. Kick for Dawodu. They hit each other with jabs, and Dawodu goes to the body. Then on the leg. Arnett presses again and puts together jabs and a cross. Another leg kick. Arnett does better by using his range to push back Dawodu, but he has to take a few kicks to get there. Close body shot and right hand for Dawodu. Then, of course, a kick. Arnett comes back. Dawodu goes to the other leg, then turns a kick. Dawodu with a nice combo on the inside, and another. Kick takes a look at Arnett's leg, and he blocks a whim. Looks like Arnett has lost his stride, and Dawodu is happy to take the lead. MMAjunkie marks the 10-9 image for Dawodu, which is up from 20 to 18.
Round 3 – They are fighting closely, and Dawodu places Arnett with a hard blow after dodging a whim. Dawodu pressing forward, jumping a shot. The leg kick is missing, and he continues to squeeze. The kick is good, and Arnett looks for takedown. Spreading is good for Dawodu, and we are back to standing. Arnett blows his way into another dismantling attempt, and Dawodu catches him and wraps him up against the fence. Knee in the head good for Dawodu, who uses his right hand to strike as Arnett lifts his leg to defend. Arnett moves away and we are back where we were. A miss kick for Dawodu, who jumps his leg on the next try. Arnett encircling, almost completely defensive at this point. A body shot tears him. Dawodu squirming forward, and he avoids a hard right and makes another leg kick. Arnett is just waiting at this point. He throws a whim, and he is stuck. Dawodu with another combo, and Arnett takes another body shot and kicks his leg. Dawodu just the style at this point. Arnett just has nothing for him. Johnson sneaks on the next approach and a brief clinch brings nothing back to one or the other fighter. Johnson finally agrees to a combo of punches and misfires. Antigulov continues to press and gets the single. Another stuffed wall walk, and Antigulov stays on top while Cutelaba goes for a kimura. Antigulov postures and punches. Pass attempts foiled right here. Instead, Antigulov strikes from the top, Cutelaba uses his legs to be rare. Cutelaba gives the kick off to Antigulov, who eventually sits at the back and hangs one leg while Cutelaba stands and turns to avoid withdrawal. Pressed against the fence, Cutelaba fires a punch and manages to escape for a few seconds. Antigulov jumps with his right hands and takes an elbow. Another single leg attempt. Dirty boxing, and Cutelaba lands kneeling nearby. Antigulov again with the single leg, and Cutelaba knee jumps in his head. It does not matter, because Antigulov gets disassembly and stands over his heads. Cutelaba stops the sweep and gets up, only to defend his leg. Elbows free his leg, and Cutelaba begins to beat Antigulov against the fence. Antigulov faints quickly, but he repels an uppercut. Cutelaba goes to work inside, and elbows crack Antigulov repeatedly, prompting Goddard to intervene and stop the assault

Round 2 – Makdessi puts a left hook early, and Pearson wants to fight inside. Makdessi again with the double left and kick back. Pearson returns with his own kick, but it's a bit low. They go back to negotiating low blows. Pearson brings up the jab and the body. He lacks just power. Makdessi is almost approaching a high kick and gets a kick up front as Pearson moves forward. Round 3 – Davis punches her way in and puts her hands on Chookagian, who fires back on the next close and lands a shot. Right hand good for Chookagian, and Davis is staggered. Only briefly, though. Nice side kick off a high kick for Chookagian, and Davis lands a left hook. Davis still chasing, landing punches inside. Davis catches a kick on her next charge and clinches against the fence. She doesn’t work much before Chookagian pushes away. Davis back in, and Chookagian thinking about uppercuts. Davis doesn’t commit on her next combo and smiles at herself. She attacks the legs and takes a shot from Chookagian, who lands a nice body kick. Davis trying to make Chookagian walk into her body kick. Chookagian keeping her hands and feet going to slow down Davis. She catches Davis’ low kick and fires back with a punch, and Davis charges back with a combo. Chookagian good with a three-punch combo, and she appears to be taking back control of the fight. Davis is moving forward, but she’s not effective as she’s been earlier. How judges see all of Chookagian’s backward movement is the interesting question for the scorecards. Chookagian sticking and moving, sticking and moving. Davis finally catches her and gets a late takedown. Chookagian grabs and arm and tries to take it. Davis postures up and smiles as time runs out. Close round, but MMAjunkie scores it 10-9 for Chookagian, who gets the 29-28 call.

Round 1 – Ortiz pawing a jab, and the two try leg kicks. Ortiz whiffs on leg kick and goes low. Nicolau sweeps Ortiz with and outside kick. Not much doing so far; both fighters seem to have a lot of respect for each other. Nicolau jabs to the body, then attacks the leg again. Big right hand cracks Ortiz, who misses on his counter attempts. Nicolau misses with right hand, and Ortiz fires a front kick. Ortiz with a nice kick off Nicolau’s jab. Nicolau winds up for that right hand again, but Ortiz has made the adjustment. Stance switches are keeping Nicolau on his toes about target selection. So far, this is a fight at distance. Nicolau barely misses on a left hook off an exchange. He circles off as Ortiz closes, and pulls back off a kick. Then, out of nowhere, Ortiz fires off a leg kick that cracks Nicolau right in the jaw. Nicolau sinks to the canvas, and Ortiz charges in to close with a flurry of punches. Amazing finish.

Against the fence, Markos turns and tries to finish and gets her head caught in Ansaroff’s arms. Markos pulls back and gets Ansaroff to the canvas. Ansaroff trying to sit up as Markos works to control the hands. A few punches allow Markos to advance to the back, and Ansaroff uses her legs to turn off the fence. Only one hook for Markos so far. Markos with punches to the side of the head. Still no hook, but Markos nearly in mount. Ansaroff adjusts and recovers guard. Ground and pound from Markos, and Ansaroff shrimps off the cage and elevates her legs for a triangle. When that doesn’t work, she tries to control the head. Markos with some nice right hands from up top. Ansaroff trying to kick away, and she’s up. Not much time to work. Leg kicks for Ansaroff and some nice counter work as Markos fires off a few punches. Round 2 – They trade jabs early. Ansaroff with a body and low kick. She pushes off as Markos closes. Markos doing her best to distract Ansaroff with punches, but the goal is clear: close the distance. Another calf kick prompts her to shoot in the open, and Ansaroff steps away. Ansaroff working a jab and her calf kick. Markos with a low stance. Brief punching skirmish. Another calf kick for Ansaroff. Markos lands a glancing left, and body kick catches her. Ansaroff with a nice head kick, and Markos charges again for a clinch. Ansaroff works a jab in counter as Markos pressures. Markos now raising her leg when Ansaroff feints. Big straight right, and Markos charges in with punches and a clinch attempt. Ansaroff circles off and goes back to work on the calf. Markos pressing forward again, trading jabs. A straight right provides entry to a takedown attempt, and Ansaroff turns against the cage, peeling off with a right hand. Short time. Another calf kick. Ansaroff fires punches going backward, but Markos powers into the clinch against the fence. Ansaroff turns her body and gets underhooks before pulling back. Midway through the final frame. Markos presses with jabs, and Ansaroff spins with a kick. Ansaroff’s nose bleeding. Right hand sets up takedown attempt from Markos, and Ansaroff grabs the neck. Markos elevates, and Ansaroff threatens a guillotine. Ansaroff pulls away and escapes. Jab from Ansaroff, and she evades a right. Calf kick again, and they trade jabs. Nice uppercut from Ansaroff. Markos tries to trip Ansaroff, and she misses. Another charge, and Ansaroff uses an underhook to scramble to top position. Elbow from top, and Ansaroff settles into half-guard. Punches from the top as time expires, and MMAjunkie scores the round 10-9 for Ansaroff, giving her the 29-28 decision.

Round 1 – Herrera leads with a jab, prompting a return combo from Powell. Herrera swinging hard early, and Powell ducks for a takedown. When that doesn’t work, he goes back to kicks and takes a shot to the body. More kicks from Powell, who closes against the fence and gets caught in a clinch. Powell drops for a leg and takes a hammerfist or two before being let up. Herrera goes back to the body and knocks Powell to the mat. After some negotiation, Powell stands up and goes back to the legs. Herrera digs to the body again, but Powell retorts with a kick to the liver that instantly freezes Herrera. Powell in for the kill and manages to hit the same target twice, dropping Herrera and forcing a stoppage. First UFC win for Powell.
