Model Naomi Campbell has written a moving tribute to Harry Brant after his death of an accidental drug overdose on Sunday at the age of 24.
“It took me a few days to figure this out to digest the fact that my beautiful godson Harry Brant has gone to the spiritual realm,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
“Ever since you were a baby, you have this innate magical joy, which you bought [sic] to everyone around you, ”she said.
Campbell and Brant’s mother, Stephanie Seymour, was part of an exclusive group of elite models in the 1980s and 1990s. Campbell was also one of Seymour’s bridesmaids when she married the father. de Brant, Peter, in 1995.
Campbell remembered that Harry had made a lot of noise in the fashion community, even as a child.
“I would take you to my meetings and they would ask if they could hire you. You were not even 10 years old. Smart as a whip, creativity springs from you on all levels, ”she writes.
“Harry, you took a piece of my heart. We never judged each other. Our ship was always honest. Too young … to go. I will always love you unconditionally, and I know [late designer Azzedine Alaïa] and [late Vogue Italia editor Franca Sozzani] will take care of you on the other side! Where we will meet and be joyful again.
She signed: “Your godmother.”
