–Nash County Sheriff’s Deputy Jared Allison was seriously injured in an accident Thursday night.

The accident occurred on US 301 at Rocky Mount.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said Deputy Allison was trying to stop a motorcycle on the US 301 when he collided with a Nissan Maxima while trying to cross the freeway from Old Mill Road.

The patrol vehicle then left the road and rolled over, according to Highway Patrol.

A witness said the MP’s SUV tipped over several times.

“It immediately went up in the air, it went up in the air and the SUV flipped probably 10 to 20 times. It flipped about 5-10 times in the air, then hit the ground several more times. He hit him really, really hard. Said Jeffrey Daniels, who witnessed the accident.

Allison was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. The driver and passenger of the Maxima attended the emergency department at Nash General Hospital with non-fatal injuries.

Highway Patrol Crash Reconstruction Unit helps investigate.

The Nash County Sheriff’s Office has asked for prayers for everyone involved.
