Spike lee’s Da 5 bloods won some of the National Board of Review’s biggest awards today, as this year’s bizarre awards season continues to unfold. Taking home awards for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Overall, Lee’s latest film led the pack with three awards, followed by Sound of metal and Threatening with two. Ahmed Rice (Sound of metal) and Carey Mulligan (Promising young woman) won the award for Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively, while Chadwick Boseman was posthumously honored with the NBR Icon Award. Other Netflix Favorites Mank and Ma Rainey’s black background came short, turning out to be a very sad day for the streaming service indeed. Check out the full list of 2020 winners below.
