For nearly two decades, the National Dog Show has been the prize of vacation television, right up there with Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade.

This year will be no different. The annual dog show puts different groups of dogs to the test in front of the judges and selects a Best in Show.

It will air from noon to 2 p.m. today on NBC. You can watch it on Fubo or Hulu

This year, three new dog breeds from the American Kennel Club will be seen competing for the first time.

These are the Belgian Laekenois, in the group of breeders; barbet in the sports group; and the dogo Argentino in the working group.

The National Dog Show airs immediately following today’s traditional Thanksgiving Parade.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the dog show will have no spectators and will be limited to around 600 dogs and their handlers, up from 2,000 in previous years.

Here’s what NBC Sports says about the event:

“John O’Hurley and David Frei will reprise their roles as hosts, having co-hosted together since the National Dog Show first aired. Mary Carillo will also be back for more commentary, analysis and behind-the-scenes looks at one of the oldest dog shows in the world.
