National lineups vs Braves: Freddie Freeman out of Atlanta on Sunday

The Atlanta Braves will look to put Saturday’s tough loss behind them when they face the Washington Nationals in the rubber game of a three-game series Sunday afternoon at Truist Park. Max Fried will start for Atlanta while the Nationals will be with southpaw Patrick Corbin.

The Braves will be without Freddie Freeman, absent from the roster on Sunday. Freeman left Saturday’s game after the first inning with an upper respiratory infection. Brian Snitker said after the game that Freeman was sick all day Saturday, but wanted to try playing. With a day off Monday, Freeman will have two more days to rest.

With Freeman out, Dansby Swanson moved up to third place in the batting order. Austin Riley will hit the cleanup and play first base while Ehire Adrianza will be in third place and hit sixth. Kevan Smith will catch up with Fried and hit eighth.

Sunday’s game is scheduled to start at 1:20 p.m. ET and can be seen on Bally Sports Southeast.
