The Nationals have announced a trio of alignment changes. The club chose the left-handed contract Dan Jennings, creating a training space of 40 people by designating righty Austin Adams for assignment and to clear an active place of training by placing a third base player Anthony Rendon on the list of 10-day wounded with an elbow contusion.
While the Nats had resisted a move on Rendon, their best player, he was not healing fast enough because of a game by blow and the pressure of the alignment proved too strong. His placement is retroactive to April 27, which means he will be eligible to return as of May 7.
Jennings, who recently signed a juvenile agreement with the DC organization, will try to help stabilize one of the hardest units in the game. At age 32, he has long been a hard-working athlete, with a equation points average of 2.96 out of 344 over the last seven seasons.
As for Adams, who is approaching his 28th birthday, he has seen very few opportunities for majors in the past three seasons. It is interesting to note that the club did not give him a longer hearing due to the number of stops he accumulated at Triple-A. After averaging 15.2 K / 9 against 3.9 BB / 9 in 46 1/3 frames last year with the Nats' main affiliate, Adams recorded a 20: 3 K / BB ratio in a dozens of images to date in 2019.
