Corona, Calif. Centennial Defensive Lineman Korey foreman just announced its commitment to USC.

It was a lightning recruit that came full circle for the nation’s top player in the 247Sports Composite.

USC was the school and dream team to beat when we first spoke to Foreman after his freshman year. Foreman ended up engaging with Clemson in February of his junior year and after stepping back he looked like a skinny from Georgia and LSU.

Arizona State also had a good run, but in the end Foreman decided to stay home and be a Trojan horse.

“USC has always felt right at home,” Foreman said. “I grew up here and I know everything about this place and the school. At the end of the day, those are my roots and I’m really comfortable with everyone at USC.

Foreman said watching USC on the court this year played a big part in his decision.

The main selling point for me with USC has been the improvement I have seen from them this year compared to a year ago, ”Foreman said. “You can tell the new staff is having an impact and you can tell they’re on the right track.

“They might not always have won every game pretty, but the reality is they won a lot and that’s important. I think you can see how the team came together and with the arrival of our class I think we can bring the program back to its place.

One thing we always said about Foreman was that development would be a big part of his decision. It’s no secret that the ideal path for Foreman would be to play three years before he makes it to the NFL, so finding a school that can prepare him and make him better was going to win out.

“I think the improvement in the defensive line has been huge,” said Foreman. “I see guys coming out of nowhere, guys who were under the radar and are now NFL prospects. I think the mindset of the whole team at the moment is to be excellent and that’s something important to me.

“Of course, I’ve watched Drake (Jackson) closely for the past two years and he plays. He looks awesome and he’s my guy there. I loved playing with him my sophomore year, we have had great success playing against each other and can’t wait to start playing with him again. “

The coaching staff at USC were relentless in the way they pursued Foreman as well.

“I’m very close to all of the staff there,” said Foreman.Donte Williams is my guy and the one I’m closest to but you have the trainer Vic (So’oto) who is awesome and of course Clay helton has been there with me since day one.

“I speak with these guys daily and they recruit me really hard. They made me a top priority, even when I was hired for Clemson. At home and they’ve done a great job with me all year.”

Foreman actually signed with the Trojans during the early signing period before going public earlier today. He had originally planned to graduate early, but he will complete his spring semester and enroll at USC in the fall.
