As we move closer to the official trade deadline today (3 p.m. ET), kFollow the latest rumors around the NBA – and the latest deals that have been made – as the final hours of the NBA trade deadline recede.

Report: Sixers, Headhunter for Lowry

Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry may be the first potential prize in the commercial market before today’s deadline of 3 p.m. ET, meaning Wednesday’s win over the Denver Nuggets could have be his last in the Toronto Raptors uniform.

Where he ends up remains unknown, but the list of suitors for him seems to be growing steadily. The Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat, according to multiple reports, appear to be leading the pack of chasing teams – with the Los Angeles Lakers and LA Clippers also in that mix.

Report: Celtics ‘all agree’ to prosecute Gordon

The Boston Celtics have been linked with Aaron Gordon in trade talks for a few days now and it doesn’t appear to be slowing down. By Mark Murphy from Boston herald, a league source says the Celtics are “all in” when it comes to chasing Gordon. The Celtics have reportedly given the Orlando Magic a first-round pick and a young contracted player, but that player isn’t Marcus Smart.

Murphy reports that Orlando may be looking for a first-round second pick in trade, but the president of basketball operations Danny Ainge is trying to avoid sending two of those picks into a deal. The Celtics are also interested in Gordon’s teammate guard Evan Fournier, but they would likely need to acquire him in a separate trade if they did.

Drummond’s fate still pending as deadline approaches

Andre Drummond hasn’t played in a game for the Cleveland Cavaliers since February 21, when the team decided they wouldn’t keep him beyond this season. His name has been steadily appearing in trade rumors since then and it only increases as the 3pm (ET) deadline draws near today.

Last night, the New York Knicks emerged as a potential destination for Andre Drummond, according to Kevin O’Connor of The ring. But acquiring Drummond through trading may not be the only way to progress.

Will Spurs part ways with Aldridge or buy him back?

It has been nearly a month since LaMarcus Aldridge last played a game, the result of the mutual agreement between him and the San Antonio Spurs to work to find him a new home. The trade deadline has arrived and Aldridge is still technically a spur, but his remaining heavy contract ($ 24 million) could make him more of a candidate for the post-trade deadline buyout than a traded player, writes. Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News. If Spurs can trade Aldridge, McDonald reports that any return they get for him would be a relief. Also note: Spurs haven’t reached a trade deal with a deadline since 2014.

Wolves would be reluctant to part ways with McDaniels

From Karl-Anthony Towns’ absence due to COVID-19 to a variety of injuries and other issues, the 2020-21 season for the Minnesota Timberwolves has been forgotten. Rookie Jaden McDaniels has been a bright spot in his stats (5.5 ppg, 3.4 rpg in 20.1 mpg) at his overall talent level. Chris Hine from Star Tribune reports Minnesota kicked the tires on the trades of Aaron Gordon and John Collins. However, Minnesota is unwilling to part ways with McDaniels in potential deals, which could hamper its ability to strike a deal.

Report: Mavs may be out of the race for Gordon

Yesterday, Mavs coach Rick Carlisle said he doubted Dallas would make a substantial move and on Wednesday president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson added to that. “I think in order for us to traffic where we are now, you have to ask yourself, ‘Is that an exaggerated move? Nelson said, by Brad Townsend on Dallas Morning News. “If so, you still have those conversations.”

According to the newspaper, Dallas appears to be out of the race for Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon. The Mavs are also linked with Atlanta Hawks big man John Collins, but are not at the forefront of those talks, the newspaper reports.

Fournier reflects on his journey as the deadline approaches

In the summer of 2014, the Orlando Magic sent veteran Arron Afflalo to the Denver Nuggets for youngster Evan Fournier. Fast forward seven seasons and Fournier has many memories of playing for the Magic as he hears his name mentioned in trade rumors. Fournier hit the winner in last night’s 112-111 win over the Phoenix Suns and, after the game, rethought his run.

“I left my home (in France) where I lived with my parents when I was 13 and since then I have never stayed in the same place for more than two years, so the fact that I have been here for seven years says a lot, ”said Fournier, who hit four 3-pointers against Phoenix. “I had a son here, I got married and that means more than a lot. … If it’s the end, it’s the end, but I obviously love the franchise.
