It will be Team LeBron James against Team Kevin Durant in the 2021 NBA All-Star Game in Atlanta on March 7.

The two captains, along with their starting colleagues, were announced Thursday on TNT following a process determined by a combination of votes from fans (50%), media (25%) and players (25%).

The top two vote-givers have been deemed captains and will draft their squads from the starting and reserve groups. Reservations will be announced Tuesday on TNT.

Here’s a look at which starters LeBron and KD will pick when writing.

2021 Star Game Starters

While there has been some uncertainty over whether there would even be a traditional All-Star Weekend this season with the COVID-19 pandemic so disruptive, the league confirmed Thursday that it will host the event. In addition, the A three-point competition and skill challenge will occur during the pre-game, while the dunk competition will take place at half-time.

Thursday’s announcement noted the event “will highlight the importance of HBCUs and raise awareness of the disparate impact of COVID-19 on communities of color. In addition, All-Star will feature special performances by HBCU musical groups and unique tales and content by distinguished alumni and students. “

The game will also feature the Elam Ending once again after the success of last season.

The Elam Ending turns off the clock in the fourth quarter and sets up a scenario in which both teams play towards a target score. Ideally, this eliminates end-game fouls as a way to stop the timer and adds more excitement to the conclusion.

It worked last year, when Team LeBron beat Team Giannis 157-155 in a Chicago thriller.

While the first three quarters of this contest played out like many All-Star Games, with alley-oops, lackluster defense and a three-point jump-off, the fourth quarter was defined by intensity and top players. of the league trading mind-blowing games the result on the line.

Anthony Davis froze him with a free kick for Team LeBron.

Fans couldn’t ask for much more from this year’s game, and now they know which starters they’ll be watching lace up for Team LeBron and Team KD.
