It seems Marcus Morris will not be heading to the Lone Star State after all.
Last week, Morris was heading to San Antonio, while he reportedly agreed to a $ 20 million two-year free-standing contract with the Spurs. But after the reorganization of Reggie Bullock's new Knicks contract, Morris would have decided to reject the Spurs and sign a one-year, $ 15 million contract in New York.
The veteran striker recently told The Athletic that his decision to join the Knicks was the best for his family and was by no means a blow to the Spurs. Nevertheless, some agents of the league would not have much appreciated his turnaround.
"Some agents are furious with Morris who is trying to pull out of an agreement, which could put July's free will next year in a precarious situation," writes Marc Berman of the New York Post. "It's not like Morris is trying to break a deal so he can play for a winner. In fact, just the opposite.

This decision makes perfect sense for Morris, who will now earn more in the 2019-2020 campaign than he would have had to sign the aforementioned San Antonio offer. Morris will be a great addition to the Knicks, but it's safe to assume they will not even be close to flirting with a playoff spot next season.
