It's official: in the NBA, it was the 3-pointer season.

Again.

The NBA set a record for the 3 points scored for the seventh consecutive season, after its 25,808th match was made Saturday night. The league is on pace with an increase of about 8% in the number of points scored by 3 points over last season.

The league record for the total number of 3-point attempts was defeated earlier this month, with 72,354 people hoisted Saturday.

The first season in which the NBA collected 15,000 points at three points was 2009-10. The 20,000-seat field had been broken just three seasons ago and this season's total should be close to 28,000.
